Ernesto de Sousa (PAPERS) at “An Atlantic drift. “The art of the XX century” , MAC-CCB

“An Atlantic drift. “The art of the XX century” is the title of the new permanent exhibition of MAC-CCB, directed by Nuria Enguita, together with her co-curators, Marta Mestre and Mariana Pinto dos Santos, scientific advisor. The room PAPERS presents a selection of ephemera from national and international graphic work collected by the Portuguese Ernesto de Sousa (1921-1988), "aesthetic operator," filmmaker, and mentor of the exhibition-event Alternativa Zero (1977). Indeed, the idea that these disposable printed materials could act as "vehicles of intimacy" and make visible a fabric of relationships and utopias shared between artists from all over the world is Ernesto de Sousa's.
